Former Yonkers Resident Patricia Harsche, 89, Loved Music, Dance

Patricia June (Gandee) Harsche, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Yonkers, died on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at age 89.

She was born July 12, 1930 to Walter and Veronica (Palyo) Harsche. Pat was an accomplished Gold status Arthur Murray dance instructor and awarded a scholarship in classical piano from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Music. 

Travels took her to Mare Island, CA where she pursued her love of the arts in ceramics, pottery and stained glass and ran the Teen Club. She also lived in Norfolk, VA, Nagasaki, Japan and Oxnard, CA. Later she lived in Washington, D.C., where she enjoyed family, playing with her dogs Stanley and Claudius and playing piano.

She is loved and missed by her children Carol Gandee of Mount Rainier, MD; Eddie Gandee and partner Paul of Washington, D.C.; Gail and husband John Mangus of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren: Blake Lynch and wife Liz; Dirk Lynch and partner Sara-Grace and Stephen Lynch and fiancée Taylor; her sister Gerry Bellino; brother Frank Harsche and wife Reeda; brother Ed Harsche and wife Karen; sister Gail DeRossi and husband Carl as well as by many other cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Patty-Gail and husband Joe Gandee.

To honor Pat’s life, family and friends will gather on Oct. 26 in Bethel, CT. Interment will be on Monday, Oct. 28,  at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
